The MST-47 is a specialty turnstile with longer 47” arms to provide an extremely wide passage opening.

The MST-47’s wider passage area can be used as an entry point for delivery packages and materials. It can also be used to provide a comfortable passage when extra width is required.

The MST-47 is not recommended as the sole entry point for secure facilities because the large passage opening, while convenient for extra-large patrons, it also makes it easier for two patrons to pass through using one access card.

In addition, the wide arms take longer to rotate. Therefore, the throughput rate (the number of users that can pass through the turnstile in a designated time) will be about ½ the rate of a standard sized MST.

All MST-47 units come with Alvarado’s revolutionary self-adjusting speed control. This function automatically increases or decreases the resistance to a user when pushing through the turnstile – depending on the pushing force exerted by the user.

Self-adjusting speed control provides a smooth even rotation under all normal operating conditions. The speed control mechanism also automatically self-centers and corrects under or over rotation of the turnstile arms.

The MST-47 is available with manual (MST-47) or electric (MSTX-47) operation. A rugged industrial grade controller, optical rotation detection, interface relays, and time out functionality are all standard on electrically controlled models.

MST-47 models can be ordered in hot dipped galvanized or color powder coat finishes.
