After discussing specific requirements with the Target Field procurement team, Alvarado recommended its stainless steel portable SLT turnstiles and Quick Queue retractable belt stanchions. SLT turnstiles are designed for high traffic use, but are light enough to allow staff to easily move the turnstile. The SLT controls patron entry. Local and computerized remote entry counting is available.
“Target Field needed portable turnstiles and stanchions to control crowds. It came to Alvarado as a proven supplier that understands the business of baseball.”

Portable SLT turnstiles help with entry control while allowing fans to exit smoothly
Background
Target Field – the new home of the Minnesota Twins – was scheduled to open in April 2010 and operations staff were looking for manual turnstiles and stanchions for the ballpark.
The Twins were already successfully using Alvarado’s GateLink Validation admission and entry control system, so Target Field staff asked Alvarado about its other crowd control products.
Challenge
Target Field had two queuing / crowd control requirements. First, it wanted turnstiles to control entry, but the turnstiles needed to be moved out of entryways in the middle innings to create larger exit paths for fans leaving the ballpark. Secondly, once fans entered the stadium, Target Field needed stanchions to manage concession lines.
A major requirement was that the products needed to be portable. Target Field needed the ability to move turnstiles and stanchions to match fan traffic during the course of the game.
Solution
After discussing specific requirements with the Target Field procurement team, Alvarado recommended its stainless steel portable SLT turnstiles and Quick Queue retractable belt stanchions.
SLT turnstiles are designed for high traffic use, but are light enough to allow staff to easily move the turnstile. The SLT controls patron entry. Local and computerized remote entry counting is available.
The Quick Queue is stable and durable enough to withstand years of abuse, yet can be easily moved by staff. The 4-way head supports belt connection in any direction, and tight fitting sign holders are available. Quick Queue retractable belt stanchions come in painted and stainless steel finishes.
