Like all our intelligent admission products, TAS12 pedestals integrate seamlessly with Alvarado’s GateLink10 admission control software. Backed by over 15 years of development, GateLink10 is installed in hundreds of facilities, including some of the world’s largest stadiums.
Our pedestals and GateLink10 support superior real-time validation of printed and digital 1D/2D barcodes, RFID/NFC and other types of media. Other available functionality includes entry/exit validation, operator assisted entry using dual display/scanning devices, and the printing of seat locator slips, receipts and coupons during the entry process.
Pedestals are ideal for both indoor and outdoor access locations where floor space is limited. The compact, barrier-free design provides venues the flexibility to create custom sized passageways suitable for comfort of patrons and the needs of the venue.
Interaction with the pedestal is intuitive for users. A bright color TFT touchscreen display provides clear visual instructions to patrons. The screen can also be used for advertisements. LEDs on the rear of the device notify attendants of presented credential status (good/bad) and identify when specialty tickets, such as a child, senior or VIP, are presented.
TAS12 pedestals allow guests to self-validate entry credentials. Guest self-scanning of credentials is becoming increasingly popular at venues because it provides many benefits over hand held validation terminals, including faster throughput and, when compared to handhelds, superior digital barcode scanning – even in bright sunlight.
Allowing guests to self-validate credentials greatly reduces the handling of customer phones, as well as attendant and guest frustration when printed or digital tickets don’t scan. Use of our guest self-validation products allow attendants to focus on guests – not the scanning process.
What’s included with each TAS12 pedestal model:
All TAS12 pedestals models come with color touchscreen displays and 1D/2D barcode imagers that quickly scan printed and digital barcodes in all types of environments. Integrated high-speed printers and additional display/scanning devices can also be added (for entry/exit scanning or attendant assisted entry applications). See table below for an overview of the available pedestal variations.
To facilitate movement within the facility, TAS12 pedestals can be installed on portable baseplates using our wireless communication option (802.11a, b-n), which outperforms the often spotty communication provided by many handheld terminals. Our optional battery system provides over 12 hours of continuous operation under a full load, even if a printer is used.

There are two ways to integrate with Alvarado’s intelligent admission devices:
GateLink10 – Alvarado’s GateLink10 is integrated with leading ticketing providers and is used at hundreds of facilities worldwide. GateLink10 users benefit from ongoing product enhancements driven by our large installation base. We’re also willing to customize integration for select partners.
DirectConnect API – Our DirectConnect API allows Alvarado’s intelligent admission devices to communicate directly with third-party systems. The API provides clear, easily implemented web service protocols that support real-time validation of all types of media and enable printing of seat locator slips, receipts or coupons during the entry process.
Convenient Device Management
GateUtility – Alvarado’s intelligent admission devices come with our highly convenient GateUtility device management application. This browser-based application allows authorized users to change display graphics and audio sound files, download software updates and restart devices from a desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone. GateUtility can address individual devices, devices in a section or area, or all installed devices.
