Many Goodwill divisions use Alvarado’s modular post and rail to create custom sized indoor shopping cart corrals and Alvarado’s Quick Queue retractable belt stanchions to queue patrons in payment lines.

Robert Schiltz, Operations Manager for Goodwill of Silicon Valley learned of Alvarado through a recommendation from another vendor. “We were opening a new store and needed post and railing right away. I contacted Alvarado and they were able to ship immediately”, said Schlitz.

Schiltz has used Alvarado post and rail products in Goodwill stores ever since. “Alvarado always gets me whatever I need very quickly. Their products are top notch and the service Dale [Staton] and everyone else at Alvarado provides is great,” said Schiltz.

Alvarado’s modular post and rail products are ideal for creating custom sized cart corrals. Using 35” high posts with available factory-attached railing outlets, it’s possible to create straight line or angled runs to accommodate almost any layout. Alvarado railing is available in various lengths or tubing can be cut to size in the field.

In addition to cart corrals, post and rail is often used to direct patron traffic and, when combined with Alvarado turnstiles and gates, is a highly effective method of deterring shoplifters and reducing theft. “Our modular post and rail is kind of like the Swiss Army Knife of store planning”, said Dale Staton, Senior Sales Manager of Alvarado’s Asset Protection and Queuing division. “The fact that it is modular provides a great deal of flexibility for store planners,” said Staton.

Goodwill Stores of Greater Cleveland, Ohio also chose Alvarado post and rail for its cart corrals. In addition, the Cleveland division uses Alvarado’s retractable belt stanchions to queue patrons at checkout stands. Mary Moriarty, Goodwill of Greater Cleveland Operations Manager, said the cart corrals and stanchions add a professional appearance to the stores verses the homemade products used in the past.

“All of the products we buy from Alvarado go above and beyond what’s expected,” Moriarty said. Like Schiltz, she is very happy with Alvarado’s customer service. “They have been very responsive to our needs. We have additional stores scheduled for early 2016 and we’ll be calling Alvarado,” Moriarty said.
