Major League Facilities, Old

Alvarado Admission Control Technology
Chino,
CA--In 1993, Alvarado installed the first online
bar code entry validation system in the U.S. at Jacobs
Field, home of the Cleveland Indians. The system was
comprised of Alvarado's GateLink software,
and EDCX ticket scanning turnstiles.
After
more than a decade, and tens of millions of tickets scanned, major
league venues are increasingly relying on Alvarado's GateLink software,
ticket scanning turnstiles, and PocketGate handheld wireless scanners.
The 2004 major league baseball season saw a
number of additional teams choose various Alvarado software and
hardware solutions to handle ticket validation.
In Philadelphia, Phillies fans said farewell
to Veterans Stadium and were introduced to the sparkling new Citizens
Bank Ballpark. The Phillies opened their new home with
Alvarado's EDCX-SC2 ticket
scaning turnstiles. These state-of-the-art admission control devices,
feature built-in color TFT patron display, and are used in conjunction
with GateLink software for entry validation, scanning barcodes
on both regular and Internet-purchased "print-at-home" tickets.
In San Diego, the Padres moved into their beautiful
new Petco Park, utilizing Alvarado's revolutionary
new EDCX-SCP scanning/printing
turnstiles. The EDCX-SCP makes it possible for Padres fans to purchase
tickets via the Internet and then bypass the will-call window by
printing their purchased tickets right at the turnstile. Upon arriving
at the facility, Internet purchasers can simply go to a turnstile,
swipe the credit card that their tickets were purchased with, and
the tickets are immediately printed, ready for validation and entry
to the stadium. The Padres plan to also implement this option for
telephone and other types of advanced purchases.
Other teams chose an all-wireless handheld
solution for ticket validation during the 2004 season. The Boston
Red Sox now validate tickets at historic Fenway Park using
Alvarado's PocketGate mobile
PDA scanning devices, as do the Oakland Athletics at newly remodled Network
Associates Coliseum, and the Baltimore Orioles who switched
to the PocketGate validation method at Camden Yards.
Many of the other venues that use Alvarado
scanning turnstiles as their primary method of ticket validation,
also use the PocketGate devices for validation at suites or VIP
areas, or for supervisory personnel to lookup status of tickets
from anywhere within the venue.
Alvarado admission control products are compatible
with virtually all major ticketing systems/ ticketing services
in the U.S., including companies such as Paciolan, Tickets.com,
Just Arrive, Patron Solutions and Vertical Alliance.
In addition to the teams/facilities mentioned
above, other pro sports teams that use Alvarado admission control
products at their facliities include the Arizona Diamondbacks,
Cincinnatti Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville
Jaguars, Houston Rockets, Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators and Kentucky
Speedway.
