Floor Bumpers Protect Los Angeles Grocer

Numero Uno Markets, a Los Angeles based grocer, wanted to use floor bumper to protect the produce and deli cases in its newest store from shopping cart and pallet jack impact damage.

Floor Bumpers Protect Los Angeles GrocerNumero Uno’s situation was unique because their deli counter was circular and other cases included various angles. The store wanted a solution that could be customized, allowing the floor bumper to be installed close to the distinctively shaped cases.

Dale Staton, Alvarado’s senior sales rep. for asset protection, suggested Alvarado’s removable SSB Floor Bumper. Dale provided a layout design that included standard SSB straight lengths and custom bent sections specifically contoured to the store’s unique cases. “We often provide custom products for customers and we were pleased we could assist Numero Uno and its contractor with a solution that blended with this attractive store”, said Staton.

The SSB comes in various standard straight lengths, as well as 90° and 135° corners. Custom bends, like those for Numero Uno, can also be provided.  SSB sections can be cut to size in the field and the product installs into recessed floor sockets, allowing the SSB to be removed during floor cleaning. The small footprint of the SSB allows the rail to be installed close to fixtures, saving valuable floor space and minimizing trip hazards.
